Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Narvios.
Hi Vanessa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’m originally from the Temecula area and it’s been fascinating to watch things grow and evolve into a ‘must-visit’ destination in Southern California.
I always knew I wanted to build my career in the hospitality industry and it’s been quite an adventurous journey thus far! In college, I took the opportunity to live in Barcelona, Spain, and Querétaro, Mexico while completing my undergraduate degree at Cal State Long Beach. After my undergraduate program, I went on to live in Shanghai, China to complete my master’s degree in International Business. During my 8 1/2 years there, I opened a consulting company that specialized in events and marketing for the hospitality and food and beverage industries.
I had the opportunity to work with companies like Disney, Macy’s, Sysco, and countless more. After China, I spent a few months living the digital nomad lifestyle in Bali until the shenanigans of 2020 brought me home.
Now, I run Finerr Weddings and Events and 4th Street Garage, Old Town Temecula’s newest restaurant! Our unique restaurant not only has delicious food, but our guests can enjoy a classic car show every day! It’s a truly unique dining experience and something that my team and I are incredibly proud of!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
With moving across the world 4 times, learning new languages and cultures there was alway a huge learning curve. People often thought I was crazy for leaving my life behind, packing up everything, and going to a new place where I knew nothing and no one. But I LOVED it and that’s where I thrived!
I discovered along the way that when you’re pushing yourself to achieve the life of your dreams, it doesn’t come from a place of comfort. It’s when you push yourself outside of your comfort zone to see what you’re really made of.
With each challenge and setback, I learned, grew more confident, and worked harder. Doing new things is never easy, it’s all in how you deal with the hand you’ve been dealt and your ability to turn obstacles into opportunities. That’s what sets you apart from everyone else.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Finerr Weddings and Events?
Being an entrepreneur may oftentimes look glamorous, especially in my industry, where I am privy to hosting weddings and events in the most beautiful locations around the world. However, the “behind the scenes” of a wedding/events pro, is not for the faint of heart. Countless hours go into crafting the details to ensure every aspect is absolutely flawless. Being able to hone that skill for the last 20+ years is something I’m incredibly proud of.
Despite any challenge I may face in the day-to-day, restarting my entrepreneurial journey post-lockdown was the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m extremely proud of the memories that I create for people, the smiles that I’m able to bring to their faces, and the stress that I’m able to alleviate from them during some of the most pivotal moments in their lives. I take a lot of pride in what I do and I think it really translates into my work and my success.
Due to my varied career experiences, I can confidently say that there is no type of wedding or event that my team and I couldn’t handle. From destination weddings and extravagant engagement parties to product launches and fashion shows, the skies are the limit!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories that greatly impacted my life and the way I saw the world was a time when my family took a trip to Las Vegas. I must have been about 7 years old, and I remember so clearly looking out the hotel window from our room at the MGM Grand and gazing over the Las Vegas Strip. The lights of the city and the sheer size of everything left me speechless. I couldn’t help but think, how do all these hotel rooms get towels every day? How much water do they use? How many people are here? Where are they coming from? What are they all doing? My mind was blown. The thought of how things flowed together and the logistics behind everything was fascinating, and still is to this day. To this day, when I travel to Vegas, I always take a moment and stare out the window and still ponder these same thoughts. I know now, that’s the day my dream of growing a career within the hospitality industry started.
My wife is very particular about details and no less than 10 different times did I hear her say the words, "Everything is perfect." So much of this came from the attention to detail that Vanessa provided for us. From the pre-planning to the placement of every single detail that we asked for, not a single thing was missed.
